Glorious Gosport
A few years ago we brought a group to the well acclaimed Local Heritage Open days here in Gosport. It went well. This years event is now being advertised again as below. We have been asked to do it again for new guests and our older clients as a form of re-union. The local programme for September is still being finalised but the difficulty is always securing hotel beds here for visitors from out of town..We have therefor booked all the beds available in a fine local hotel THE OLD LODGE HOTEL - see Google for the details. …..First come first served!! ( 10 doubles and one twin room)
You probably dont need reminding that EXPLOSIONS (and the New Coastal Forces museum) plus The SUBMARINE MUSEUM with HMS ALLIANCE are located here…plus more than enough other attractions from Hovercraft to Helicopters to list here. We have a new Naval bookshop for you to explore right by the Ferry to Portsmouth too.
For Heritage Open days some 60 other attractions and sites ( many situated in properties normally closed to the public ) open their doors (its all Free!!) but visitor numbers are limited. Those booking with us will be sent a comprehensive list of opportunities during during the week - and they are personally responsible for making their own bookings well before the event.
I will be hosting a small group based in the OLD LODGE HOTEL , 81, The Avenue, Alverstoke Gosport PO12 2JX from Sunday 10th September. to Sunday 17th September or for as long (or short) as you want to stay. A minimum of 3 nights please.
Whats on offer
8 Nights in this fine Georgian hotel in the centre of the village. at £60 PER ROOM ( one or two occupants) per night.
8 Breakfasts at £12 each.
6 nights Dinner in the hotel..( Giving you a couple of opportunities to ‘explore” locally) at £18 per person evening meal.
We are assuming that clients will bring their own cars to zip round the various opportunities there will be offered in the local area. You will also have a variety of bus services that stop reasonably close by -or we can organise a taxi / minibus nearer the time when clients needs are known.
We have organised one day out (Saturday 16th September) whilst in the area - to the Isle of Wight to visit the (almost unknown) local Maritime Museum and the fine Preserved steam railway. (this will be an “extra” depending on interest) plus the Garlic farm or Osborn house?
